With its four floors staggered at half-level intervals this house is both architecturally fascinating and effectively planned. Entering on the third level one sees dining and sunken living rooms ahead on a space-expanded diagonal. The corridor kitchen extends into a traffic-free space open to living areas on one side. A deck makes the outdoors a natural part of all social areas. One half-level higher the master bedroom connects to a study a deck and a luxurious compartmental bathroom. On the second level two smaller bedrooms have a landing with a bath and a convenient laundry. The lowest level of the house is a recreation basement. The framing of this house uses large studs and rafters spaced at wide intervals to cut construction time reduce the need for lumber and open deeper gaps for thicker insulating batts.
